About
I am a Counsellor based in North Leeds. I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from York St Johns University. My placement during this time was at Cruse Bereavement Care (Leeds), where I worked within a 6-week timeframe, with a range of clients, with issues triggered by their loss(es).
The scope of clients I have worked with has led me to train as a Supervisor within Cruse to support others with their clients and help ensure the quality of the service offered. Alongside this, I carry out telephone assessments for bereaved clients to prioritise, initiate them going on the waiting list and accurately tailor the support that each individual person requires.

I also work at GIPSIL (Leeds), a Children and Young Peoples counselling service. Here they provide longer term therapy for young people with a variety of issues, from mental health, employment, housing, family etc.
I integrate theories to make my service bespoke to your needs and work with all aspects of the individual to provide insight into root causes of psychological distress and/or barriers preventing you from living your life the way you prefer. The theories I refer from provide a humanistic base, and then include working creatively to tailor to individual need, solution-focussed approach, or offering a psychodynamic view i.e., by looking at attachment theory (how our current lives may be impacted by our initial relationships). I work with anyone aged 16 and over, with flexibility on the length of sessions depending on how in depth you are able to go.
Prior to training as a Counsellor, I have worked for over 10 years as a Careers Advisor in a range of secondary school establishments from selective grammars to Pupil Referral Services. This has provided me with vast experience of supporting clients facing a variety of barriers into education or employment i.e., stress and anxiety bought on by intense exam pressures and external influences to achieve unrealistic high-expectations; to behavioural issues preventing the individual from engaging etc. My counselling training has hugely impacted my careers work allowing me to consider internal barriers from a behavioural perspective for example: motivational factors. This has been powerful in allowing me to help clients pinpoint the reason for disengagement or inability to achieve their potential.
Professional Qualifications taken:
Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling York St Johns University
Post Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance (QCG) University of Sunderland
BSc Psychology University of Sunderland
